Job Description
The Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity (Go Utah) is seeking two program support specialists that will support the Center for Rural Development and the Broadband Center. The program support specialist is an administrative position that provides support to the Center’s director and staff. The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude, enjoy engaging with people and be a creative and proactive thinker.

Principal Duties
Serve as the frontline contact; provide office management, answer phones, and respond to constituent inquiries
Schedule, create agendas, and take minutes for in-person and virtual meetings
Manage calendar for travel, special events, conferences, etc.
Secure hotels, vehicles, and other travel arrangements for team members
Set up and facilitate Zoom meetings, special events, and conferences
Assist in the administration of grants by learning the details and speaking with clarity about grant opportunities offered
Be a team participant in the grant application process (reviewing, scoring, and awards)
Analyze aspects of state and federal programs
Utilize Salesforce to track key performance indicators, contact information, and other program information
Collaborate with other departments within Go Utah and work closely with other businesses, the public, and government officials
Assist with communications i.e. writing and editing emails, newsletters and other program and marketing materials
Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
At least two years of administrative experience or relevant education
Experience in Microsoft Office and Google Suites
Technical skills with virtual meetings and recordings
Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of or quick learner of CRM (Salesforce)
Flexibility to balance long-range planning with occasional urgent requests and priority shifts
Ability to exercise a high degree of discretion and confidentiality

Center for Rural Development
The Center for Rural Development works with Utah’s rural counties, communities and businesses, providing economic development resources and programs in support of healthy economies. Twenty-four of Utah’s twenty-nine counties are rural, each with its own unique history, cultures, industries and economic environments. The ideal candidate will have an interest in serving Utah’s rural communities and a desire to proactively support economic development outreach and program activities throughout the state.
