The Statewide Online Education Program (SOEP) enables secondary students to earn high school graduation credit through the completion of publicly funded online courses.

Principal Duties
SOEP Educational Specialist Responsibilities:
Provide SOEP training to all stakeholders
Authorized/Certified Online Provider Training
Stakeholder Training for USBE Staff, External Staff
May Delegate Training to other SOEP Staff as appropriate
Develop informational materials, etc.

Provide technical assistance on agency issues, services, programs(s), computer applications, etc.
Support other SOEP Educational Specialists with federal, legislative and Board policy creation, implementation, monitoring.
Provide consultation, make recommendations, give appropriate advice, and/or facilitates decisions
Analyze, summarize and review data findings. Interpret results and make recommendations.
Support SOEP Teacher Licensing Program Specialists and SOEP teacher alignment monitoring.
Monitor and Oversee Provider Operations.
Create and Maintain SOEP procedures and guidance documents.
Assists other SOEP staff as needed.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has:
Master’s degree or higher
A Utah educator’s license
Experience as a high school guidance counselor
Experience working with state/federal statute and policy, including knowledge of IDEA and Section 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Experience teaching online within the last 12 -14 months.
Experience developing and facilitating online learning opportunities.
Knowledge of principles and methods of curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups.
Knowledge of and experience in design principles addressing the needs of unique learners.
Knowledge of and experience in design principles addressing the needs of unique learners.
Preference
Preference may be given to candidates which have:
At least three years of experience working with developing and facilitating online learning opportunities
Experience in educational coaching and mentoring
Experience working with candidates for the Special Education Eligibility Evaluation endorsement
Experience developing micro-credentials
An Educational Supervision/Administration license area of concentration
