The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) is looking for a full-time, seasoned, leader and visionary to provide leadership as the statewide expert in the development and implementation of preschool evidence-based curriculum, standards, and assessment statewide.

Principal Duties
As the Preschool Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:
High Quality School Readiness Program administration, including all reporting, follow-up, school support, and legislative reports.
Planning, developing, promoting, implementing, and evaluating state preschool programs and support services.
Planning and implementing statewide professional learning for preschool personnel.
Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines, etc.
Collaborating with colleges, universities, and other education institutions to improve the pre-service and in-service education of teachers, administrators, and other school personnel.
Completing reports for schools, the USBE and the Legislature as required. Interpret, clarify, explain and apply USBE policy and procedures, business practices, federal or state laws and regulations, etc.
Completing other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess:
A Bachelor’s degree, additional preference may be given for a Master’s degree.
A Current Utah State Education License, additional preference may be given for Early Childhood, Preschool Special Education.
Experience in providing professional learning to adults.
Knowledge of the Utah Early Learning Standards: Ages 3-5
3 years experience as a teacher in a preschool program, additional preference may be given for those with 5 or more years of experience.
