Provide customer-focused support using clear and descriptive methods. The Department of Corrections-Utah Correctional Industries (UCI), is currently looking for Correctional Industry Program Specialist’s experienced in Warehousing to join our team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Serve as specialists in a specific service, trade, manufacturing and/or marketing/sales with our warehousing team within Utah Correctional Industries.
Knowledge and experience in general warehousing.
Function as a first line supervisor/foreman.
Ensuring projects and program goals are completed.
Employees supervise inmates and may supervise staff.
Provide training and work experience to inmates within the pre release program .
Ensure safety and security regulations/guidelines are followed, to include OSHA and EPA.

Minimum Experience/Knowledge:
Duties include instruction and training to staff and offenders who are in the pre release program.
Develops, directs, and/or evaluates pre release programs.
Schedules and assigns work to meet completion dates.
Ensures compliance within the pre release program.
Direct and coordinate the activities of employees/inmates within the pre release program.
Inspect materials, products, or equipment.
Maintain operations data, such as time, production, and cost records, and prepare management reports of production results.
Observe work and monitor gages, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
This job is NOT public safety certified, and does not require peace officer status or certification.

Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g. working at great heights, working in extreme outdoor weather conditions, being subject to possible physical attack, etc.
The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing, lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds, crouching or crawling in restricted areas, defending oneself and/or others against physical attack.

Salary will be based on the Career Ladder for current UDC employees.
Salary ranges specified reflect a minimum starting and top of range dollar amount. Actual rate per hour will be determined by evaluation of qualifications and skills of the individual and the availability of monies through budget and grants or by following DHRM rule.
