The Utah Department of Corrections is seeking individuals who can balance compassion with accountability while supervising offenders in our care and custody at various correctional centers in Salt Lake and Weber counties.
Maintain safety and security of facilities as well as opportunities in various areas like State correctional facilities and community correctional centers.
UDC now offers 1 for 1 years of service credit on our certified pay plan. The entry pay rate will increase for each prior year of Corrections or Law Enforcement experience. Please see our current pay plan rates below:

Qualifications:
Must be SFO and BCO or LEO
Meet POST Standards
Preference may be given to those who are currently in Public Safety.
Must be at least 19 years old.
Applicants agree to meet the conditions of the Reserve Officer program. Conditions include:
Maintaining Special Function Officer and Basic Correctional Officer or Law Enforcement Officer Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training certification for the duration on involvement in the Reserve Officer program.
Working a minimum of 36 hours quarterly (3-month period).
Not working more than 1500 hours annually.
Abiding by all Department of Corrections policy and procedures, post orders and state statutes.
Attending and completing required training associated with the Reserve Officer program
Agreeing to all other rules and conditions of employment.
