Licensed Clinical Therapist

The Eastern Region of the Utah Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS) is looking to fill a position providing services in the Vernal/Roosevelt area as a Licensed Clinical Therapist (LCT). The employee can locate in either the Vernal or the Roosevelt office.
The LCT job requires an active Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Mental Health Counselor or Psychologist licensure from the State of Utah.
Pay starts at $32.12
Employee exercises independent judgement and discretion in diagnosing and formulating clinical treatment plans for Child Welfare clients. Provides clinical intervention with individuals and families to assist in maintaining children in their homes, conducts clinical assessments and clinical family meetings. Documents client progress, compiles case histories and prepares other related reports.
Principle Duties
Provides case management to include evaluating the needs of clients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and monitoring progress.
Develops and implements treatment plans to help clients mobilize inner capacities and resources to improve social functioning.
Consults with physician or other health professionals as needed to ensure holistic approach and coordination of care and case management.
Provides consultation, makes recommendations, gives appropriate advice, and/or facilitates decisions.
Prepare psychological or mental health assessments by obtaining background information such as physical, psychological or mental health, and social factors which contribute to the client’s situation and by studying case histories of clients/residents.
Refers client/inmate/patient to other available services to meet needs where appropriate.
Acts as an expert witness. Gives testimony and /or recommendations in court cases and/or hearings.
Crisis management or brief intervention, facilitate difficult CFTMs, help caseworkers understand assessments and reports from other mental health agencies.
May include performing 24-hour on-call services as required under supervisor’s direction. 24-hour on-call services assignments may be based on, and subject to, geographic employment location and/or agency demand.
Preference
Preference may be given to applicants having:At least 2 years experience in child welfare.

Qualifications
Must be licensed with the State of Utah as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Mental Health Counselor or as a Psychologist.

Travel required. Must have a valid driver’s license. May require you to use your personal vehicle to perform the duties of this position. All approved mileage driven by using a personal vehicle is reimbursable by State Finance. The reimbursement rate is determined by State Finance.
Physical Requirements: Moderate – Work requires some physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time. Ability to drive an automobile with a current drivers license. Stamina required to supervise small children during visits and stand while facilitating possible long meetings.
Working conditions: Everyday Risks – Risks found in typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc. Access to highly confidential information.
