The Utah State Library’s Bookmobile Program is seeking a Library Technician II for the Utah County Bookmobile Headquarters. The Library Technician does not drive the Bookmobile or go out on the Bookmobile. This is a part time position working 28 hours per week.

Principle Duties
The Library Technician I will perform the following duties:Catalog material.
Order books through the Inter-Library Loan system.
Prepare reports and other documents.
Maintain and/or create files or record keeping systems.
Keep the library clean by emptying the trash, cleaning the bathrooms, dusting, and vacuuming.
Provide administrative support.
Assist patrons with technology and book recommendations.
Develop programming events such as story times, etc.

Has effective verbal and written communication skills.
Works well with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Work well independently.
Has great time management and organizational skills.

Preferences
Preference may be given to those have strong technical skills, experience or background working in libraries, and/or related fields.

Bookmobiles have been around for over 50 years. We partner with the County Commissioners to provide library service to communities in your area. This position works in the Headquarters Library and works directly with one other team member who is on the Bookmobile. There is also a team of coworkers all over the state. The day-to-day work includes providing customer service to patrons of all ages as well as a lot of detailed work on the computer making sure the materials are cataloged correctly and available to the public. Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
valid driver license required to drive a motor vehicle on a highway in this state per UCA53-3-202(1)(a).
