The Utah State Hospital has critical need for custodians!
 

We are now hiring temporary coverage Custodians to work cleaning the Utah State Hospital in non-patient areas.
This unique opportunity is perfect for students who would like to work full time for the summer, with the option to stay on part time after school starts in the fall!
There are 2 shifts available for this position:
day shift is Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and,

afternoon shift, Monday – Friday 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

(Part time evening shift can be negotiated with management toward the end of summer.)
Principal Duties

Maintains building(s) and/or facilities in a clean and orderly condition and/or removes snow from sidewalks and doorways, etc.
Cleans and maintains floors, dusts, waxes and polishes furniture, washes windows, mirrors, and other glass or plastic items, empties trash and garbage, etc.
Cleans, sterilizes and or disinfects areas and/or equipment.
Sets up and arranges tables and chairs.
Repairs, cleans, adjusts and/or performs preventive maintenance on computers, vehicles, equipment, tools, or machinery, etc.
The Ideal Candidate
The applicant who is best qualified for this position is:familiar with basic housekeeping practices, techniques and procedures.
physically able to meet the demands of the position, which includes, but is not limited to repetitive and continuous walking, standing, crouching, lifting, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.
comfortable using cleaning chemicals, tools and equipment.
able to closely follow written or oral instruction and willingly accept training and feedback.
diligent, reliable and trustworthy.
able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc.
The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing, lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds, crouching or crawling in restricted areas, defending oneself and/or others against physical attack.
