We are hiring a Program Administrator II (Unit Director) to be administratively responsible for programs, policies, operations, and related matters for a Unit housing intellectually disabled individuals.
As a Program Administrator you will be responsible for programs, policies, operations, and related matters, development of mental health programs including implementation and delivery, development and implementation of program strategies, evaluate program effectiveness, maintain Unit budget and serve on an executive leadership team.
Responsibilities
Principal Duties
Develop, direct, and/or evaluate programs.
Monitor and evaluate operation, programs, processes and/or practices for quality and effectiveness; making recommendations for improvement.
Represents the Utah State Developmental Center with federal, state, and local government units, in the media, or with private organizations.
Monitors Unit 3 budget including revenues, expenditures and budget projection, etc.
Makes final judgment with responsibility for decisions, including explaining decision in other proceedings.
Coordinates and implements policy and procedure changes.
Interprets, clarifies, explains and applies Department of Health and Human Services policy and procedures, business practices, federal or state laws and regulations, etc.
Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, Title XIX guidelines.
Supervises subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training and leadership development, monitoring and evaluating performance, initiating corrective or disciplinary actions to include having difficult conversations with staff.
Minimum Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:experience in human services or related field, with 3 years of progressive leadership roles, or work experience related to human services

5 or more years working with intellectually disabled individuals

Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc.
The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing, lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds, crouching or crawling in restricted areas, using crisis de-escalation techniques and physical/mechanical restraints with aggressive individuals in potentially dangerous situations and settings.
You must successfully pass a criminal history check.
