EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The Supervising Psychologist will oversee the psychology team working in the Utah State Developmental Center.This person will directly supervise and clinically participate in the delivery of professional psychological services in the areas of: Diagnostic testing and assessmentTreatment planning and implementationProgram development and implementationCoordination of servicesOther duties, as relevant for the needs of the hospital and program Typical Qualifications: Supervises subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.Plans, coordinates and implements psychological services provided to clients/patients; evaluates and reports on quality of services in compliance with state and federal regulations.Develops or modifies rules, policies, or standards, etc.Develops and implements treatment plans to help clients mobilize inner capacities and resources to improve social functioning.Documents client/patient progress and revises treatment plans as required; completes administrative paperwork.Consults with others to discuss treatment plans, new or unusual situations, findings, options, and recommendations on client/patient cases.Provides consultation, makes recommendations, gives appropriate advice, and/or facilitates decisions related to public information.Acts as an expert witness. Gives testimony and /or recommendations in court cases and/or hearings.Discuss results, findings and/or recommendations with appropriate parties.Selects, administers and interprets biofeedback, psychological tests and other psychological training and assessments.(includes knowledge, skills, and abilities required upon entry into position and trainable after entry into position)The ability to come up with a number of ideas about a topic (the number of ideas is important, not their quality, correctness, or creativity).The ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem.The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
