The Utah State Hospital (USH) is looking for highly motivated Senior Business Analysts to join our growing technology team in Provo.
There are 2 positions open for Senior Business Analysts;
First opening; is for the lead help desk position for the hospital’s internal software systems including our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. If you have great customer service skills, are a great problem solver, and troubleshooter who enjoys identifying issues with software, and computer systems this position is for you.
Second opening; is for our equipment manager, back-up help desk, and new development requirements gathering analyst. This position is primarily responsible for the inventory management and support of the hospital’s iPads, teleconferencing equipment, dictation systems and 3rd party software support.
Responsibilities
Principle Duties
As a senior level Business Analyst you will be responsible to perform the following principle duties and tasks:
analyze and test user application processes, enhancements, and other changes
conduct annual user account audits on system applications
review and update user help manuals to stay consistent with application enhancements.
support system users with application and equipment technical assistance
query databases using SQL to properly test applications and to help users with technical assistance
adapt automated system(s) to accommodate special and complex agency needs; design or enhance agency unique automated systems to interface with existing systems as needed
anticipates the impact that new or modified software will have on existing standards and systems
identify problems or potential problem areas and recommends solutions
audit and review systems and practices to ensure compliance with procedures, regulations and standards
reviews and/or inspects work for quality, accuracy, and completeness
recommends user level computer system enhancements to better meet user needs
facilitate/chair work groups, etc.
After training is complete and the new employee understands our systems either one or both of these positions will participate in our On Call rotation.
Qualifications
(includes knowledge, skills, and abilities required upon entry into position and trainable after entry into position)
The ability to communicate with application users in a clear and professional manner.
The ability to identify application issues and communicate with application users to come to a solution.
The ability to prioritize important tasks in order to complete the tasks correctly and efficiently.
The ability to follow a testing plan to ensure accuracy in new enhancements to the application
Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
Knowledge of basic computer programs as well as custom applications.
After training is complete and the new employee is able to show competence in their knowledge of our internal systems and processes either one or both of these positions will participate in our on-call after hours support rotations.
These positions may be filled as Career Mobility.
