Principle Duties
Psychiatric Technicians are part of the nursing department and assist with maintaining a safe and secure therapeutic environment. Techs provide care for individuals with mental illness and must be willing and able to act as an integral part of the patient’s treatment team. This involves following treatment plans and prescribed behavioral programs while acting as a mentor and caregiver for our patients.

At minimum, this person must be able to:Assist people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism
Observe the environment, paying attention to changes, inappropriate activity, or potential problems and react appropriately, as needed
MUST be available to work weekends and holidays. (shift differentials may apply)
MUST be available to attend an Accelerated Training Session for one week,(40 hours)
Additional Information:
We currently offer full time Time Limited acuity pool positions. Medical benefits start day one for full time employees. Upon completion of training, new Psych Techs are invited to move into a full time benefited (Schedule B) position on a designated unit, subject to the needs of the hospital. Additional benefits of moving from a Time Limited position to a Schedule B position include holiday, annual, and sick leave accrual, as well as elective benefit options including vision and dental.
