JJYS Journey Maintenance/ Construction Specialist

The Journey Maintenance/ Construction Specialist performs a wide variety of skilled maintenance duties requiring independent ability to organize and complete maintenance projects. These projects are located within our JJYS facilities and include:Troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing problems in the areas of:Alarm systems
Provide technical consultation to originators of project job orders, including development of project plans and related estimates
Builds, fabricates, or repairs structures, equipment, and/or miscellaneous articles from verbal instructions, blueprints and/or working drawings
Ability to use a variety of hand tools, electrical, mechanical, and automotive equipment
Perform emergency preparedness planning and train staff
Read and interpret maps, plats, charts, plans, blueprints and/or electrical schematics
Preference may be given to a candidate who
is computer literate, knows how to create reports, is organized and able to keep accurate records.
Is 19 years of age or older
Has high school diploma or GED
Has multiple years of experience in this area of expertise.

The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing, lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds, crouching or crawling in restricted areas, defending oneself and/or others against physical attack
