The Utah State Hospital is seeking a Job Training Program Specialist. Do you have experience working with mentally ill patients in an inpatient setting? Are you an organized self-starter with exceptional time management skills? Do you have the compassionate temperament needed to supervise, assist, and teach new skills to people who are struggling with mental health? The Job Training Program Specialist will be responsible for assessing and coordinating jobs for mentally ill patients, assessing their readiness to work, helping to explore career development and work interests, developing employment skills, work habits, self-confidence, and providing supervision while they complete their job training tasks. Job Training Program Specialists are also expected to act as a liaison between job training supervisors and treatment teams, ensuring both patient and supervisors are succeeding in the arrangement. This position will also have responsibilities at the greenhouse and pool and will be required to work a few hours on rotating weekends at the greenhouse.
