Do you enjoy cooking and serving food? Would you love to work in a fast-paced, busy environment? The Utah State Hospital is seeking several full and part-time employees to prepare, cook and serve meals to both patients and employees at the beautiful Utah State Hospital campus.
Our Food Service Workers are a fun, energetic team who diligently work to provide nutritious meals to 300 patients and their guests, as well as over 800 State employees, every day. We are looking for reliable, energetic, career-minded individuals who will be positive addition to our team!

The Best Qualified Applicant
There are currently 6 openings in our Food Services Department which will be filled at either of the two levels described below, depending on applicant qualifications.

The Food Service Worker II : This is a cook position that pays $16.09 per hour, and offers a full benefits package. The best qualified applicant for this position will have a few years of experience in the food service industry, with a history of demonstrated career growth. We are looking for someone who will be a positive addition to the team, willing and capable of the work required to prepare and serve over 1200 daily meals to our patients and staff.

A qualified Food Service Worker II will:have a food handlers permit.
have experience cooking in an institutional environment and preparing and setting up for catered events.
be able to perform the physical duties of the position, which may include routinely lifting up to 50 pounds.
be able to cheerfully adapt to unforeseen changes, such as staffing needs and menu adaptations
The Food Service Worker I: is an entry-level non-benefited position that pays $14.50 per hour (ACA* benefits offered, if full-time), with no experience required. We will be happy to train the right person, as well as provide the required food handlers class. And, we love to promote our best employees from within!

A great candidate for a Food Service Worker I position is:reliable, with great references and verifiable work history.
