Principal Duties
Psychiatric Technicians are trained to assist with maintaining a safe and secure therapeutic environment and manage individuals with varying degrees of mental illness. These employees must be willing and able to act as an integral part of the hospital patient treatment team; to follow prescribed behavioral programs while acting as a mentor and caregiver for our patients

Principle Duties of CNA certified Psychiatric TechnicianProvides care to patients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
Follow prescribed behavioral programs.
Be a positive mentor and caregiver to our patients.
Observing and communicating medical needs for the patients
Maintains confidentiality of patient records.

The Ideal Candidate

The Ideal Candidate will:be certified as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the State of Utah.
have excellent communication skills to interact with mental health professionals in a team environment.
have keen observation skills and react appropriately if needed.
be available to work weekends and holidays.
must be available to attend a one week training session beginning:Monday, October 18, 2021
Monday, November 1, 2021
Monday, November 15, 2021
Monday, November 29, 2021
Monday, December 6, 2021
Pay rate is $14.30 an hour, with medical benefits only.
Shift Differentials are as follows:
Other pay incentives are available!

There is a $1000 Sign-On Bonus for psych techs. This program will entail getting a distribution of pay outs over the first 6 months of hire:
1) $350 upon hire (1st Paycheck)
2) $150 after 3 months and
3) $500 after 6 months of employment.
(If you are a rehire and your last day worked was in the last 3 months, you are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.)

As an Acuity Pool applicant, you will be eligible for full benefits when you are hired permanently on a unit. Full time benefitted positions are available.

Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g. being subject to possible physical attack, etc..
The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing, lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds, crouching or crawling in restricted areas, defending oneself and/or others against physical attack.
