Returnship Program

Attention professionals looking to return to the workforce after a career break of two years or more! The State of Utah invites you to apply for our pilot return-to-work program. This 16-week program is similar to an internship and is designed to provide the experience, training, skills, and mentoring needed to successfully return to the workforce after a hiatus. Using a cohort model, participants will navigate this professional and personal life transition together, bolstered by expert group coaching and customized programming.

The program will commence the day after Labor Day, with the first week of the program consisting of learning, development and workplace orientation.

This is an intent-to-hire returnship opportunity. Upon completion of the program, based on performance, participants may receive an offer of employment. This is a flexible, part-time, non-benefited position, working 20-25 hours per week.

Returnship Opportunity
The Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity (Go Utah) Talent Ready Utah team is seeking a Returnee! With support from our professionals the Program Specialist Returnee will re-engage in programmatic responsibilities as follows:

Coordinate and lead core team meetings for established Talent Ready Utah pathways programs, convene board meetings
Coordinate with pathways chairs/co-chairs to align program milestones and timelines
Organize subcommittees established under Talent Ready Utah pathways programs that plan and prepare for pathway events ie. graduation events
Convene new education and industry partnerships for the purpose of expanding existing pathways programs and establishing new pathways programs
Participate in student engagement or teacher/counselor engagement activities to promote Talent Ready Utah pathways programs
Run point for Talent Ready Utah team with administrative duties ie. group gatherings, catering requests, front desk support, etc. for Pathways programs
Scheduling meetings between stakeholders and constructing meeting agendas

Ability to convene groups of stakeholders and lead group discussions
Strong communication, both written and verbal
Time management and organizational skills

To be eligible for this return-to-work opportunity, candidates must:
Be on a career break of two or more years at time of application
Have prior professional experience in functional area of interest
