Join a passionate team of administrative professionals as a Legislative and Special Projects Assistant with the Department of Cultural & Community Engagement (CCE). This is a temporary part-time position, working 20-30 hours per week.

Principal Duties
Our Legislative and Special Projects Assistant will work with the CCE team to:

Identify bills and agenda items that impact CCE and its divisions.
Coordinate communication between members of the CCE legislative committee.
Attend legislative committee meetings and floor time (could be virtual or in-person).
Schedule meetings with legislators and executive staff in connection with legislative issues.
Assist with special projects managed by the CCE team. These may include the Utah State Flag project, the Museum of Utah (Utah’s first designated state history museum, currently under construction), and Utah’s state commission for the America250 commemoration.
Assist CCE’s Deputy Director and Advancement Team with other duties as needed.

PreferencesPreference may be given to a returnship applicant.
Preference may be given for prior legislative or government experience.
Work Location
This position will report to the office located at 3760 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, UT and will required some time spent up at the Utah State Capitol during the Legislative session. This position is also eligible for some remote hours.

Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
