Job Description
The Utah Department of Health is looking for a part-time Health Program Specialist III to serve as a liaison between the Health Living through Environment, Policy and Improved Clinical Care (EPICC) Program and the local health departments and community based organizations. In this position, you will lead efforts around strategic planning and social determinants of health and health equity. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing a health equity action plan to address root causes and social determinants of health, facilitate group meetings with public and private partners and solicit feedback from partners and staff to utilize and implement strategies for long-term planning and changes to programmatic work, & training staff and partners on social determinants of health and health equity.

Principal Duties

Provide technical assistance and support to all health departments and community based organizations.
Develop program objectives and allocates resources to address identified needs.
Utilize professional public health skills in the management, supervision and delivery of program related to health equity and strategic planning.
Coordinate special projects and programs as necessary to promote health in the community and to meet goals and objectives of the Program.
Represent the Utah Department of Health in state and community planning and projects related to primary prevention, shared risk and protective factors, health equity, chronic diseases.
Analyze, summarizes and/or reviews data; reports findings, interprets results and/or makes recommendations

The Ideal CandidateMust have at least 5+ years of experience in public health, specifically in chronic disease prevention
Must have experience with strategic planning, health equity, health policy, and social determinants of health
Has experience working on risk and protective factors

May be given to applicants with:Masters degree in Public Administration or Public Health
