The Governor’s Office is recruiting for a Constituent Services Specialist. The Constituent Services Specialist serves on the front-lines of the Governor’s constituent services team and assists with all interaction (electronic, written, telephonic, and in-person) between the Governor’s Office and the citizens of Utah. The constituent services specialist also assists with all systems, processes, material and events to strategically engage citizens, solicit public feedback, and appropriately respond in a timely and accurate way to the needs of Utahns who contact the Governor’s Office for information or assistance. This position works with all state agency leads responsible for constituent matters and, among those agencies and stakeholders, coordinates an accurate, timely and responsive solution or reply. Qualified candidates will be able to work independently and as a team member, value taxpayer resources, handle fast-paced and stressful environments, and demonstrate the ability to be a self-starter, punctual, reliable, consistent, proactive, professional, respectful and creative.

Principal Duties

Assists with all systems, processes, material and events to strategically engage citizens, solicit public feedback, and appropriately respond in a timely and accurate way to the needs of Utahns who contact the Governor’s Office.
Writes or drafts correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials.
Edits written material for accuracy, format, and arrangement of material.
Receives, researches, and responds to incoming questions or complaints; provides information, explains policy and procedures, and/or facilitates a resolution.
Provides technical assistance on agency issues, services, program(s), and/or computer hardware and software, etc.
Coordinates and/or acts as a liaison between agency or work unit and other agencies, work units, organizations, suppliers, etc.
Maintains and/or creates files or record keeping systems. Sorts, labels, files and retrieves documents, or other materials.
Ideal CandidateExperience designing and implementing effective communication strategies and tactics, using various new and traditional media, written and verbal communication ability, including basic elements of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and organization
Ability to work independently and highly self-motivated
Ability to remain calm under pressure, diffuse an emotional situation and find constructive solutions
Ability to solicit detailed information, provide constructive feedback, and resolve conflicts
