The Division of Technology Services (DTS) is looking for someone who loves to solve problems, is passionate about new technology, and is a talented and motivated individual looking to pursue a career with us as a Desktop Services Technician. We support all state agencies in the geographic area and a variety of enterprise applications offering a challenging fast-paced work environment. This position requires a high level of expertise and broad experience in desktop hardware, applications, and advanced troubleshooting. You will work under the direction of the area supervisor and become a key team player in the Campus C Desktop Support group. You will be expected to be proficient in setting up and supporting Mac devices as well as Windows desktop operating systems.

There may be times when you will be required to work extended hours and/or weekends to implement changes, troubleshoot issues, or complete project tasks.

You will be working in a group consisting of 3 desktop support specialists. You will work with all hardware and software products used by the customers in the geographic area. You will be part of the team, helping to troubleshoot problems and provide customers solutions.

This position will be located in the office, but the option may be available for the selected candidate to telework one day a week.
 

May be filled as a Technical Support Specialist III with pay starting at $33.23 or underfilled as a Technical Support Specialist II with pay starting at $29.00.

Responsibilities
 

Troubleshoot issues with PCs and Windows 10 & 11 operating systems.
Troubleshoot issues with all Apple products.
Plan, organize, and prioritize time and workload in order to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines with a diverse set of user needs.
Communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand the information presented in writing.
Participate in and provide feedback and recommendations in developing standards and guidelines for Desktop Support.
Provide instructions and guidance on best practices to members of your team.
Install, troubleshoot and optimize workstations within standards.
Provide excellent customer support to the agencies in the assigned geographic area.
Provide thorough documentation when resolving tickets.
 

Qualifications
 

At least 4 years experience providing desktop support for a company or business.
Extensive knowledge on supporting and troubleshooting PC and Apple products.
Extensive knowledge on supporting and troubleshooting Mac devices.
Experience with central administration, support, and maintenance of mobile device operating systems, i.e. iOS, and Android
Experience in wrapping apps in Microsoft Intune Company Portal is preferred
Experience with centralized administration, support, and maintenance of Mac and Windows operating systems
Experience with central administration, support, and maintenance of the following system types:System Center Configuration Manager administration and ENGL imaging
Active Directory administration
Mobile Device Management experience
Remote Access and Control
Endpoint Security
File and Print Services
Experience with TCP/IP Networking including troubleshooting.
Installation and performance analysis of in-house, open-source, and commercial off the shelf (COTS) software
Knowledge of laptop and desktop hardware for Mac and PC computers
Proven ability to quickly learn and implement unfamiliar technologies
Must be a self starter who stays on task and works hard to get devices deployed to the end user within two to three days.
Must be highly organized, and have the ability to complete projects and assignments on time with little supervision

Employment is contingent on passing a drug screening and a background check.
Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
