The Utah Department of Corrections is looking to fill a Full time support Service Coordinator I position with the Dept. of Corrections – Facilities & Maintenance Bureau in Draper, UT. This position will move to the new prison site summer of 2022. The work hours shall fall between M-F 6am – 4pm. This position is benefited through the State of Utah.

Principle Duties
The Support Services Coordinator I is responsible to work in the Draper Facilities & Maintenance Office environment. It includes working and backing up for the SSC II position, support of 2 Facility Managers and Supervisors of the many shops. This position will also be a team member of the purchasing and tracking team for all facilities sites and will include the following tasks:Be an active member of the Finance Team for Facilities.
Monitors the budget, expenditures and budget projection, etc.
Maintain the Google sheet for purchases, tracking, and payments.
Receives processes and responds to Finance payments.
Responsible for Inmate Payroll for your site.
Responsible to create PO from Requisitions and submit the orders.
Support Managers in Training prep, staff meetings etc.

The Ideal Candidate
The best qualified individual for this position is someone who:Budget and accounting experience.
Experience with constructions terms, building materials monitoring Contracts and payments on those contracts.
Experience being a team player and willing to serve and actively support your Facility team.
BCI background checks & Clearances for contractors.
Is very detail oriented and willing to learn and adapt to new ways. Works with others and work well under pressure.
Has a working knowledge of the Dept. of Corrections and the various departments.
Would have good penmanship, clerical skills, detailed oriented.

Preference
Preference may be given to those who:Have working experience in Finet,
Has experience working with State Purchasing.
Have working experience in any type of construction.
Have experience working around inmate staff.
Friendly upbeat and service oriented.

Example of Duties
 

Work with Team in Managing accounting or budget activities and provides fiscal information.
Monitors agency and department contracts to make sure they are following the scope of work and following the finance responsibilities as per the contract.
Oversees accuracy of contract tracking system; monitor and improve as needed.
Develops a working relationship with vendors so that issues may be resolve quickly and efficiently.
Submit work orders that are called in and aid in getting those completed quickly.
Maintain and perform semi-annual asset reports.
Perform BCI Background checks and then submit the appropriate document for a clearance to be signed in the warden’s office.

The Utah Department of Corrections is looking to fill a fulltime budget/ purchasing agent position with the Facilities & Maintenance Dept.in Draper, UT. The work hours shall fall between M-F 6am- 4pm.
Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
Must pass thorough background investigation.
Hiring officials may identify additional related skills and requirements as preferences in making hiring and promotional decision.
