The Department of Public Safety, Utah Highway Patrol, is looking for a Support Services Coordinator I. This position supports Section 26 – UHP Criminal Interdiction Team and UHP K-9 program.
Principal Duties
As a valued member of our team, you will provide specialized office skills along with a comprehensive knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
This position requires 5 days in office each week. After training and demonstration of competency, may consider moving to 4/10 hour in office work schedule.
Work with section Lieutenant to maintain budget details and accounting for Federal HIDTA grantWork directly with DPS HIDTA Grant Specialist to ensure overall HIDTA budget integrity
Submit and monitor HIDTA Budget invoices for payment and accuracy
Yearly budget accounting and reporting
Quarterly audit of HIDTA grant funds (overtime, vet, uniforms, supplies, travel, equipment, communications)
Oversee acquisition, maintenance, audit, disposal of federal grant inventory items
Yearly statewide physical audit of HIDTA purchased equipment items
Correspondence with Rocky Mountain HIDTA in Denver to maintain all Utah DPS HIDTA inventory (Canines, Intel equipment/programming, interdiction equipment, canine equipment, crime lab equipment, etc.) This includes record keeping from acquisition to disposal
Manages support services to include: (in and out of state) travel requests/reimbursements, response/dissemination of requests, fulfill records requests including GRAMA, subpoena for records, etc.
Relocation and inventory of equipment, including but not limited to: federal grant inventory, section and program fleet, specialty assignment specific equipment items
Prepare financial reports and documentation to include, but not limited to: overtime entry into SAP server for troopers stationed in various field sections throughout the state, federal grant tracking, documenting and reporting, deposits and documentation for fee payments
Facilitates surplus of both state and federal inventory items as a state surplus administrator
Manage storage of non-issued equipment, supplies, non-issued canine training narcotics, and supplies
Oversee case file management to include entry, records management, dissemination, etc.

Can effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Knowledge and experience in inventory control
Knowledge and experience in records management systems
Experience in Utah State Surplus processes and procedures
