Special Assistant for the Lt. Governor’s Office

Return Utah Program
Attention professionals looking to return to the workforce after a career break of two years or more. The State of Utah and Lieutenant Governor Deidre M. Henderson invite you to apply for the Return Utah program. This 16-week program is similar to an internship and is designed to provide the experience, training, skill, and mentoring needed to successfully return to the workforce after a hiatus. Using a cohort model, participants will navigate this professional and personal life transition together, bolstered by expert group coaching and customized programming.

The program will commence on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, with the first week of the program consisting of learning, development and workplace orientation.

This is a part-time, experience-only Return Utah opportunity. Please note, that while we will provide access to resources that will enable you to explore further employment opportunities, your participation does not guarantee employment with the State of Utah upon conclusion of the program.
Return Utah Opportunity
The Lieutenant Governor’s Office is seeking an individual for a return to work opportunity within its office. This program will provide 16 weeks of on-the-job training, professional development, mentoring, and networking opportunities. The job is part-time, approximately 25-30 hours per week and the schedule is flexible.

As a special assistant to the Lt. Governor, the job offers an opportunity to build skills in administrative and principal support. Support functions with on-the-job training may include the following:

Helping to staff the Lt. Governor as she travels and visits counties, agencies, tribes, individuals, and more.
Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters, and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software.
Greet visitors or callers and handle their inquiries or direct them to the appropriate persons according to their needs.
Some administrative work, mail, calendaring, email response, social media monitoring, and errands
Scheduling assistance
Other duties as assigned

To be eligible for this Return Utah opportunity, preferred applicants must:
Be on a career break of two or more years at the time of application
Have prior professional experience
