The PRISM project has an Operations Manager position who is responsible to oversee the Operations activities performed by the CNSI Team (who is our system vendor) to ensure contractual obligations are met as they pertain to SLAs concerning Infrastructure, Security, and ticket resolution. The Operations Manager also acts as a liaison between CNSI’s IT Team and the State IT Department (DTS).

The major pieces of the PRISM system are scheduled to be implemented in January 2023. The Operations Manager position will be responsible to ensure the successful implementation and running of a ticketing system between business and the vendor, CNSI. The Manager will also develop operational procedures for users and streamline communication processes with stakeholders.

PRISM, which stands for Provider Reimbursement Information System for Medicaid will replace the current Medicaid Information System (MMIS) which supports the many processes surrounding enrolling providers and payment of Medicaid claims.

CNSI, who was awarded the contract to work with Utah Medicaid, is responsible for leading the design, development and implementation processes for this project which includes creating all the system training materials for internal and external users.

Example of Duties

Oversee the running of current IT operations, as defined by the state, of the PRISM Medicaid systems that are in production and it’s supporting environments.
Oversee the implementation and running of future IT operations, as defined by the state, of the PRISM Medicaid systems that are in production and it’s supporting environments.
Coordinate with the Department of Health’s and CNSI’s security team in ensure PRISM systems are in compliance with State and Federal requirements.
Coordinate Infrastructure activities between the State IT department and CNSI’s infrastructure team.
Act as an expert and be the State owner of the following CNSI deliverables: Master Operations Document, System Security Plan, Disaster Recovery Plan, and System Architecture Design Document.
Oversee annual reviews and testing against the content of these deliverables.
As the project work plan coordinator see that the state team members: are aware of upcoming activities and provide are providing timely updates. Manage requests to change the work plan by insuring changes do not have a negative impact on the schedule and are approved by the state.
Oversee the Conversion Manager and their team as they prepare and perform the conversion from two different legacy systems into the new CNSI system.
