Full Job Description
Seeking a confident, organized, hardworking professional to fill our Office Specialist II (Board Secretary) position. This position is with The Department of Commerce, Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL).
**This position is NOT eligible for full-time telework. Training will take place in the office; if eligibility requirements are met, teleworking up to three days/per week may be available. The required schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm.**
Your main responsibilities in this position will be providing support to the bureau manager and assigned licensing boards. You will handle assigned tasks primarily related to the following boards; Pharmacy, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Substance Use Disorder Counselors, Psychologist, Online Prescribers, Recreation Therapist and Genetic Counselors. This position requires that you exercise considerable independent judgment and will quickly obtain a comprehensive knowledge of pertinent rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. You will need to have exceptional writing and communication skills. Other duties include:Team lead for application processing
Organizing board meetings
Preparing board minutes
Providing customer service: sending correspondences, answering questions, assistance filling out forms and applications
Locating and assembling records
Assisting in the training of new employees
Preparing and processing travel arrangements

Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
