Job Title: Office Administrator-Technical Support Staff (Engineering Technician II)

Job Description:
Are you detail oriented? Do you enjoy interacting with people and handling multiple tasks? Then this may be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. The Engineering Technician for the Utah Division of Oil, Gas and Mining’s Coal Program manages multiple workflows including responding to, scanning, and reviewing correspondence (email and hard copy), tracking bond documents, report generation, data entry, amendment processing and task generation for technical staff. As part of the position, you will interact daily with fellow staff members, the public and Utah coal operators.

Principle Duties:
As a Engineering Technician, you will:

Process incoming amendments for technical review
Maintain chronological notes as technical reviews progress
Maintain electronic and hard copy permit files
Produce monthly and quarterly reports
Review reclamation bonding documents for completeness
Respond to routine inquiries from the public and government agencies
Finalize outgoing correspondence
Scanning documents
Data entry
Creating and maintaining task records and permit records in web-based application

The Ideal Candidate (will):Have multi-tasking skills
Be detailed oriented
Be timely
Have a willingness to work
Have good communication skills
Have good interpersonal skills

Preference may be given to applicants familiar with Salesforce.

Working Conditions:
Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.

Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm Custom work schedule may be possible upon the successful completion of the probationary period (i.e., 4×10 hour days, telework etc.)

Requirements:
High school graduate with ability to: process information accurately, communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing), follow direction, approach tasks with an attention to detail and be able to multi-task. Applicants must be proficient in MSWord, Adobe Software and Excel.
Valid driver license, occasional overnight travel for outreach events and field trips may be occasionally required.
