Marketing and Communications Specialist I – Return Utah

The new Return Utah program is similar to an internship designed for adults looking to re-enter the workforce after an extended absence. These opportunities are structured as return-to-work positions that provide the experience, training, skills, and mentoring an individual needs to return to the workforce.

Return Utah is a 16-week program for people who have taken a career break of at least two years for reasons such as starting or raising a family, caring for a family member, military service, continuing education, or other personal/career related reasons.

The program will commence on Monday January 10th, 2022, with the first week of the program consisting of learning, development and workplace orientation.

This is a part-time, experience-only Return Utah opportunity. Please note, that while we will provide access to resources that will enable you to explore further employment opportunities, your participation does not guarantee employment with the State of Utah upon conclusion of the program.

To be eligible for this return-to-work opportunity, candidates must:
Be on a career break of two or more years at time of application
Have prior professional experience in functional area of interest

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSWrites or drafts correspondence, reports, documents and/or press releases
Uses graphic design skills to create a variety of materials for the organization
Provides assistance with conferences, symposiums and speeches
Implements marketing projects and campaigns
Works with Content Management System (CMS) to keep website information current
Executes marketing projects and campaigns
Tracks marketing projects and campaigns
Creates presentation materials such as PowerPoint
Furnishes the public with information on the objectives and activities of the Agency

Public Lands Policy Coordination Office (PLPCO) is a small office that consists of very dedicated staff that work to protect access to public lands in Utah. As the Marketing and Communications Specialist, you will be able to join the team to coordinate, promote and implement Utah ‘s public land priorities thus providing Utahns with unique and lasting opportunities for access, economic prosperity, and stewardship.
 

Supplemental Information
 

Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g. safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
This is a part-time position and remote work opportunities may be available at the discretion of the Executive Director.
