Move forward in your career by becoming a Lead Worker in Salt Lake Valley Region (SLVR) of DCFS. Currently, the Region is looking to fill three Lead Worker positions: one on a CPS team at the Oquirrh office in West Valley, one on a permanency team in the MidTowne office in Sandy and one on a permanency team in the SouthTowne office in Sandy. Duties include assessing needs for children, youth and families, facilitating change, assisting the supervisor in mentoring team members and functionally supervising staff in the absence of the supervisor.

This recruitment will also be used to fill Lead Worker vacancies that will open in the future within SLVR. Currently, the Region is looking to fill three Lead Worker positions at the MidTowne, SouthTowne and Oquirrh offices.

This recruitment is open only to current employees of DCFS. Only the applications of current DCFS employees will be considered.

Pay starts at $25.90.

Principal Duties
As a Lead Worker you will:

Carry a reduced caseload as circumstances permit.
Prepare detailed case documentation including: intake records, investigation summaries, child and family assessments and/or service plans, risk assessments, social summaries, activity logs, and case histories.
Assist and/or mentor team members with coordinating services with the court, community partners, placement providers, and other collateral agencies as needed to support children and families receiving services.
Coach team members in assessing and documenting client needs and developing and implementing service plans to meet those needs.
Assist the Supervisor to provide consultation, case staffing, and in assessing needs for on-going agency involvement.
Providing input on performance evaluations and disciplinary actions occasionally.
Ideal Candidate
The model candidate for this position is someone who:Has an active Social Service Worker or a higher, related license (Certified Social Worker, LCSW, etc.) with the State of Utah.
Has at least two years of DCFS casework experience.
Candidates without SSW licensure and/or with fewer years of experience may be
considered dependent upon business needs.
Preference
Preference may be given to applicants having a minimum of 2 years of DCFS casework experience.
