Do you have managerial experience in a warehouse setting? Do you enjoy maintaining database information and documenting inventory. If this is you, then the Utah Public Health Laboratory (UPHL) would like you on their team as an Inventory Specialist. As an incumbent in this position, you will be responsible for the inventory activities of storage, distribution, ordering and organization of assigned locations within your workplace facility. You will also receive, ship, stock, order, fill orders, and maintains inventory through cycle counts/audits in a warehouse or facility. To be successful in this position, you need to have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and be able to understand and speak english clearly. You will be the one that makes a difference in your role, helping complete the job at hand while working with a great team of experts.

Principal Duties

Loads and unloads material, supplies, and/or equipment.
Conducts regular and/or spot check inventories of merchandise, supplies, or equipment.
Ensures that there is an adequate supply of materials available.
Orders, receives, inspects, and appropriately delivers and stores equipment, merchandise, commodities, materials, and/or supplies.
Keeps supplies labeled, binned and organized.
Monitors expiration dates/shelf life (rotates product), adjusts par levels related to usage/trends. Maintains accurate records and logs.
Fillis orders/kits as requested to ship out. Assembles/disassembles appropriate equipment upon request.
Other duties or projects as as needed or assigned by leadership.
The Ideal CandidateHas inventory management and control experience.
Possesses strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
Pays close attention-to-detail while visually inspecting boxes, packaging slips, computer generated reports, and other similar items.
Has a demonstrated ability to use pallet jacks, hand truck, carts, and other warehouse related equipment as needed.

Supplemental Information
Working Conditions:

The typical office setting for this job is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. However, you may encounter some risks that are associated with any office setting, for example, the safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
There will be some risks which involve working with PPE (e.g., working around operating machines, working around/with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc.)
Standard Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. There may be increased hours based operational requirements.

Physical Requirements:Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
