The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) Healthcare Practice Guidelines in conjunction with Fostering Healthy Children (FHC) and Utah Psychotropic Oversight Program (UPOP) is looking for detail oriented applicants for an exciting opportunity. As a Health Program Specialist you will provide healthcare program support alongside a team of Registered Nurses, Advance Practice Registered Nurses, Psychiatrists, and Pediatric Physicians to a population of children with special healthcare needs within the foster care system. We seek a strong working knowledge in a variety of Electronic Medical Records (EMR’s) for document access, distribution, importing, and care coordination. You will provide training and support to the FHC and UPOP professional team in EMR and other systems use and navigation as well as prepare content specific training documents for the healthcare team. There will also be an opportunity to assist with quality control measures and participate in the quality or performance audit process by compiling dates and statistical information for analysis. Additionally you may participate in healthcare reporting, quality reporting, program performance reporting, and information distribution.

As a valued member of our team you will be:

Participating in the health assessment processes. i.e.: Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) and Ages and Stages Questionnaire Social Emotional (ASQ-SE).
Assignment of foster cases to the health care team.
Reassigning and transferring foster care cases.
The subject matter expert for Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Doing SAFE database health related information entry.
Scanning, faxing, and filing of health care documents.
Assisting with employee file management and auditing.
Facilitating new employee on-boarding, system access, and training.
Participating in the foster care health appointment reminders process.
Taking meeting minutes.
Data entry and records keeping for immunizations.
Acting as liaison for the community and other partner providers.

Our ideal candidate will have:Healthcare coordination and analysis experience.
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience, coordination and analysis.
Proficiency in use of computers, office equipment, and technology.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent skills in organization, filing, daily operation and execution skills.
Ability to multi-task, change focus abruptly, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Attentive, prompt, and responsive to due dates and deadlines.

Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
Occasional in state, out of state, overnight and weekend travel will be required.
As a condition of employment, this position requires compliance with the Utah Department of Health Employee Immunization policy. Applicants may request a copy of the policy if called for an interview.
If offered this position, your continued employment will be contingent upon passing a background check and review. This check will include fingerprinting at various UDOH locations for your convenience. There will be no cost to you and will be completed on the first day of employment or shortly thereafter.
Be aware that salary ranges specified reflect a minimum starting and top of range dollar amount. Actual rate per hour will be determined by evaluation of qualifications and skills of the individual and the availability of monies through budget and grants or by following DHRM rule.
