Financial Manager I

Do have experience with accounting, auditing, process improvement, and project management? The Utah Department of Human Services seeks you as a Financial Manager I in the Division of Services for People with Disabilities to oversee compliance with federal and state guidelines, review and improve processes, and help with or manage projects related to federal grant monitoring.

Principal Duties
As the Financial Manager you will:Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls for financial reporting and monitoring of state and federal funds.
Help programs implement and ensure compliance with federally required monitoring tasks
Financial and operational deep dives related to major federal programs
Manages accounting or budget activities and provides fiscal information.
Performs statistical analysis by applying appropriate protocols in analyzing data and reaching accurate conclusions.
Analyzes, summarizes and/or reviews data; reports findings, interprets results and/or makes recommendations.
Reviews fiscal operations to ensure integrity, accuracy and control of data.
Assist in the development of budgets including fund allocation, revenue collection, budget projection, expenditures, etc.
Review application of the Cost Allocation Plan
Analyze, review, and prepare Title XIX Medicaid transaction reports.
Prepare and submit Grant reports.

The Ideal CandidateHas experience evaluating and implementing process improvements.
Has the ability to communicate well in writing and verbally.
Can demonstrate an understanding and implementation of proper documentation.
Has the ability to work with people in a professional manner which shows sensitivity and tact, especially with differing opinions.
Is a quick learner.
Has experience creating and maintaining budgets.
Has experience creating and implementing strong internal controls over financial processes.
