The Department of Environmental Quality is looking to hire an Environmental Program Coordinator to work in their Division of Drinking Water.

Principal Duties
The principal duties for this position include the following:

Program Coordinator for the Division’s Sanitary Survey and Level 2 Assessment programs. This will include data entry, assignment management and tracking, and data management using excel, web-based and in-house databases.
Program Coordinator for the Division’s Emergency response program. This will include supporting policy and rule development, creating flow charts, and records management.
Assist in partnership contracts: budget updates, services tracking, and administrative support.
Facilitate resolutions and provide exceptional service, technical support, and expertise to public water systems, schools, and stakeholders through courteous and professional communication.
Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and draft documents to capture key information.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have the following:Ability to multitask, prioritize and learn new skills quickly.
Knowledge and experience working with databases, using excel to track information and progress.
Knowledge of principles, theories, and practices of drinking water site inspections.
Ability to solve a problem by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.
Ability to work with peers, stakeholders, and customers in creating documents, including drafting and reviewing policies or letters for context and grammar.
Experience in customer service with ability to speak and write clearly and engage with people in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Utah Drinking Water Operator Certification
Additional Information
This position may be performed remotely from within the State of Utah; however, some in-office work will be required on occasion.

Supplemental Information

Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
