Board of Education (USBE). The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) is looking for a dynamic and meticulous individual to fill its Program Specialist position. This is a specialized job requiring working knowledge of a specific program(s). Incumbents are responsible for a
specific program within Career and Technical Education. The incumbent also develops and maintains cooperative relationships with State, local, and private agencies.

Principal Duties:

This is a working level position that will be responsible for developing and maintaining
cooperative relationships.
Other duties include:

Providing technical assistance to administrators, USBE staff, and others as necessary
Providing consultations, making recommendations, and giving appropriate advice related to the program
Monitoring, tracking, and evaluating for quality, effectiveness, and compliance of the program
Analyzing, summarizing, and/or reviewing data, reports findings, and interpreting results
Develops or modifies rules, policies, or standards, etc. in partnership with key stakeholders
Provides technical assistance on agency issues, services, program(s), and/or computer hardware and software, etc.

Has technical writing skills
Is Self-motivated
Pays close attention to detail
Has the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Has strong analytical skills
Is familiar with local, state and federal educational policies
Is familiar with GAAP guidelines
Is familiar with FINET
The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
The ability and willingness to adapt to new technologies
Has proficient understanding of Microsoft programs such as Office 365. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures.
