Criminal Information Technician I- Criminal History Researcher
This researcher position will provide service to the Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) by researching, obtaining, and updating criminal history data. Projects assigned will include querying informational databases, prosecutors, courts, local law enforcement, and the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigations) for the most accurate and up to date criminal record information.
Principal DutiesDesigns, develops, and conducts a variety of research projects; determines appropriate methodologies, information sources, sampling strategies, and data-collection tools, etc.
Research, analyze, interpret, and present data
Facilitate data requests
Training of other employees may be required and deemed necessary
Preference may be given to candidates who:
Have 3 years related research and demonstrated relation
Have effective communication skills
Have experience with UCJIS, Xchange, or Utah Criminal History (UCH)
Requirements:Employment for the selected candidate will be contingent upon the completion and passing of a Level II background.
Fingerprints are required upon hire.
Supplemental Information:
A series promotion to a Criminal Information Tech II may be considered after passing probation and completing necessary training.
Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
