Do you have extensive experience related to data analysis and interpretation? Do you have experience with finance and budget analysis? Are you familiar with conducting academic literature reviews? The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks you as a Clinical Services Bureau (CSB) Research Consultant.
In this role you will perform analysis of complex and critical issues impacting an individual’s medical care and mental health treatment received residing in State correctional settings directly supervised or contracted with the Utah Department of Corrections (UDOC). You will also form conclusions, and develop recommendations for policy, programs, regulations to help serve the DHHS – Correctional Clinical Services program.
Principal Duties
As a CSB Research Consultant you will:
Evaluate all aspects of research projects, project findings, and operational data regarding technical merits and implications.
Facilitate the use of research data to improve existing programs and utilization of resources.
Coordinate and implement the collection of new data and/or reporting requirements resulting from new legislation.
Interpret, clarify, explain and apply agency policy and procedures, business practices, federal or state laws and regulations.
Provide consultation, make recommendations, give appropriate advice, and facilitate evidence- based decisions.
Manage research projects; direct the research/ analysis by establishing priorities, setting goals and objectives, developing outcome measures and analyzing the results.
Analyze, summarize and review data; report findings, interpret results, and make recommendations.

Have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, the legislature, other agencies, and the public.
Will develop well thought out hypotheses.
Have the ability to identify data quality issues.
Can make sound judgments under pressure.
Will be able to facilitate or lead meetings, teams or work groups to encourage participation, build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among participants.
