The Utah Department of Corrections – Reentry and Rehabilitation Division is seeking a self-motivated individual to fill a Correctional Program Coordinator II position. The main purpose of this position is to evaluate the fidelity of new or ongoing programs in a correctional setting. The Correctional Program Coordinator II is responsible for the development, implementation, and interpretation of policies, procedures, and practices used to carry out program objectives; provides leadership to ensure quality services as a liaison and a subject matter expert to related service providers and organizations; acts as an expert resource to management and trains in program in related topics. May supervise professional-level staff, contract employees, interns, volunteers, and/or support staff.
Principal Duties
Plans and manages projects and/or programs.
Writes (or discusses) project/program plan(s), contracts, recommendation(s) and/or finding(s).
Monitors and evaluates contract/contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract; recommends action(s) to correct deficiencies.
Monitors agency or program budget including revenues, expenditures and budget projection, etc.
Serves on various boards, councils, committees, or task forces to coordinate agency activities and facilitate agency goals and initiatives.
Conducts on-site reviews and confers with staff and agency officials on problem areas.
Performs employee relations functions and works proactively with managers and supervisors to develop strategies for the resolution of human resource problems such as inappropriate employee behavior and special performance issues, etc.
Prepare and/or process documents; review for accuracy and completeness; update information and/or evaluate against policy; compare elements for consistency or logical relationships, etc.
Writes or drafts correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials.
Reviews outgoing correspondence, edits for procedural and grammatical accuracy, conformance to general policy and factual correctness; advises writer of problems needing attention.
Reviews, investigates, documents and processes grievances, complaints and/or implements disciplinary actions.
Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for this position has the following:
Solid understanding of evidence-based practice framework
Experience analyzing, evaluating, and reporting findings
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, and O-Track.
Complex problem-solving skills.
Time management skills.
Experience with operations analysis.
Salary will be based on the CURRENT Promotional Process. (If the increase brings you above the top of the range, your increase will stop at the top of the range.)
Health Insurance – Public Employee Health Program (PEHP):
3 medical plan options. Choose a Traditional or High Deductible Health Plan. There is an Opt-Out Cash Benefit option for those who have other medical insurance coverage.
5 dental plan options, with an Opt-Out Cash Benefit option for those that have other dental insurance coverage.
4 vision plan options under EyeMed or OptiCare
Retirement – Utah Retirement Systems (URS):
Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in the Tier I Public Employees System.
Employees hired on or after 7/1/2011 and who have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System.Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))
Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.
Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years.
Paid Time Off:
Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual, 4 hours sick).
Annual leave amounts increase with years of service.
We have 12 paid holidays.

Supplemental Information
Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
DHRM rules regarding promotions and transfers apply to current state of Utah employees.
This position will require statewide travel and the ability to adjust a normal working schedule as the need arises.
