The Department of Environmental Quality is seeking a Contract/Grant Analyst to work for the Division of Water Quality. This position may be filled at any of the advertised levels listed below. Salary depends on the job level offered within the series.
Principal DutiesPrepare, process and track contracts and grant agreements.
Review and approve contract and grant payments.
Monitor contracts and grant budgets including revenues, expenditures and budget projections.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
Ideal Candidate
The best person for this position:Understands procurement processes and/or best practices for administration of contracts, grants, loans, or similar agreements.
Understands administrative procedures and systems such as word processing, file management, creating forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
Is experienced in monitoring or tracking information or data.
Can prepare financial reports and documentation.
Communicates information and ideas clearly both verbally and in writing.
Works well in a team environment.
Reads and understands information presented in writing.
Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strength and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Preferences
Preference may be given to candidates with a four-year degree in an associated field or equivalent work experience.
Job Series
This position may be filled at any of the advertised levels listed below. Salary depends on the job level offered within the series.Contract/Grant Analyst I – starting salary range will be between $19.87 to $34.18 per hour depending upon experience and qualifications, or in accordance with DHRM Rules for current employees of the State of Utah. This is a working level job in which incumbents provide technical assistance on grants and contracts. Other duties include monitoring and analyzing the performance of contractors, and ensuring proper fiscal control.
Contract/Grant Analyst II – starting salary range will be between $25.37 to $42.48 per hour depending upon experience and qualifications, or in accordance with DHRM Rules for current employees of the State of Utah. This is a senior or supervisory level job in which incumbents provide technical assistance and expert consultation on grants and contracts. Technical assistance includes reviewing federal, state, department and/or division requirements and ensuring compliance with those requirements. Other duties include monitoring and analyzing the performance of contractors, and ensuring proper fiscal control. May supervise subordinate staff.
