Licensure in Utah as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Mental Health Counselor is required (Certified Social Worker only as an underfill).
**This position is not entirely remote, you will be in the office for training (up to 3 months), then will have the opportunity to telework up to four days/week, if eligibility requirements are met.
As the Clinical Coordinator I (CC) with DOPL’s Utah Professionals Health Program (UPHP), you will perform a variety of professional clinical tasks related to the monitoring of healthcare professionals with substance use disorders (SUDs).
ROLES AND RESONSIBILITIES
Your duties will include, but not be limited to the following:
Providing case management for assigned participants to facilitate ongoing recovery and successful completion of their monitoring agreement. Tracking participant agreement compliance, including treatment(s), medication(s), and/or toxicology testing. Making appropriate and timely chart entries for clinical encounters with participants. Completing all forms and documentation in a timely manner, managing the correspondence regarding assigned participants, and ensuring that regular correspondence is sent out to various parties.
Coordinating toxicology, reviewing check-ins, toxicology testing, and follow-ups with participants; communicating with participants regarding issues with the collection process and/or toxicology results; assisting with scheduling make-up toxicology testing as needed.
Consulting with others to discuss treatment plans, new or unusual situations, findings, options, and recommendations on client/patient cases.
Overseeing assigned participant charts and ensuring their maintenance, that relevant data is entered in charts in a timely manner and meets UPHP expectations for charting, relevant data is entered, and that policies and procedures are implemented as written.
Providing general clinical duties involving maintenance of participant communications, both verbal and written, assisting in setting up contracts for assigned participants to ensure a smooth transition and managing participants in crisis, involving UPHP Program Manager and participants’ care providers, where indicated and engaging in special projects as needed.
Assisting with all aspects of new participant sign-ups, clarifying locations of all state licenses, clinical privileges, and workplace monitor(s), ensuring all relevant consents are signed and forms are complete, and completing entry into the electronic records system.
Understanding and following applicable state and federal laws, as well as UPHP policies, regarding confidentiality and protected health care information and carrying out responsibilities in a manner consistent with UPHP policies and procedures.
Accepting referrals to and inquiries about the program, from individuals, places of employment, or other concerned parties; gathering information, communicating with referral sources, and completing participant records and the internal processes related to new inquiries.
Testifying in court, or hearings regarding actions, findings, procedures, and protocols, etc.
Executing outreach plans to increase program visibility and engagement. This includes coordinating presentations or training sessions for professional associations, boards, and employers, distributing educational materials, maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and participating in conferences and community events. The role also involves collecting and reporting outreach metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and guide future initiatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Licensure in Utah as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Mental Health Counselor is required (Certified Social Worker only as an underfill).
Clinical Experience: 3+ years as a licensed clinical therapist, social worker, or counselor in a behavioral health or addiction recovery setting.
Case Management: Experience managing a caseload, including assessing client needs and ensuring compliance with treatment agreements.
Documentation & Monitoring: Proven ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and toxicology testing.
Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, case managers, and treatment providers.
Crisis Management: Experience in de-escalating clinical crises and managing participants in distress or crisis situations.
PREFERRED
Prior experience working in a professional health program (PHP) or a related setting is highly desirable.
Prior experience in a primary treatment setting specializing in the care of healthcare professionals

Classification: Licensed Clinical Therapist (#91032) for licensure in Utah as a Psychologist, LCSW, LMFT, or CMHC. May underfill as a Social Worker (#91052) if the successful applicant has a CSW only.
