Looking for a new career? Well this position with the Utah Department of Health and Human Services may be just what you are looking for. You will supervise the staff in the Office of Vital Records and Statistics who complete certification of vital records duties. Help to provide customer service for both the public and for local health departments. Be relied upon to understand and be able to provide all of the service tasks assigned to this section.

As a valued member of our team, you will be supervising staff on the processing of certificates of vital records, adoption processing, and amendments. Responding to elevated customer service calls and emails and provide solutions. With the help of the Certification Manager, you will determine the strategic goals for the section and develop training, tracking, and improvement measures.

Our ideal candidate will have:

Ability to learn quickly and take responsibility
Supervisory experience
Able to prioritize tasks and follow through to completion
Ability to listen effectively and support employees as well as hold them accountable
Continuous Quality Improvement mindset

Preference may be given to candidates with the following experience:
2 years experience with the vital records certification process including issuing certificates, the putative father registry process, adoption processing, and amendments.
Able to interview job applicants and make good choices for new hires, train, mentor, and evaluate the work of subordinates constructively for employee growth.
Customer service focused whether customers are the public or internal. Willing to find workable solutions.
Efficient and effective at getting the work done.
Team player with a growth mindset.
