Job Title: Adminstrative Secretary

Job Description:
Are you a skilled professional with computer experience looking for a Monday through Friday job, working with great people in natural resources? If so, then this may be the job for you. The Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands is hiring an Administrative Secretary to facilitate work for the Division and assist multiple agency programs within the Division with specialized agency office functions and day to duties of the office environment.

Principal Duties:

Provides assistance to staff and public.
Retrieves data found in databases to generate requested reports/ uploads data to database.
Coordinates and/or acts as a liaison between agency or work unit and other agencies, work units, organizations, suppliers, etc.
Prepares and/or processes documents; reviews for accuracy and completeness; updates information.
Acts as a resource to provide information or determine the most effective way of meeting the needs of management, staff, clients or customers.
Writes or drafts correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials.
Ideal Candidate:Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently.
Ability to execute multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
A diverse background dealing with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism, especially when interacting with the public.
Computer word processing software; automated software applications skills
Read and understand written information; communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely in writing
The ability to review and/or edit documents for accuracy and completeness
Ability to organize, monitor and track data
Knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in Natural Resources

Typical Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

At least 3 years experience working in an office environment
Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently.
Experience engaging and working with the public.
Ability to execute multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
A diverse background dealing with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
Computer word processing software; automated software applications skills.
Read and understand written information; communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely in writing.
Ability to organize, monitor and track date.
Preferred Qualifications:An Associate’s degree or higher.
5 years of experience in a professional office environment.
Excellent computer word processing software and automated software application skills.
Knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in Natural Resources.

 

Supplemental Information
 

Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
Ability to operate and/or travel by ATV, UTV, canoe or boat.
Travel by foot on uneven terrain for one mile.
Some travel may be required at times by vehicle and could include all types of terrains. Overnight travel, camping, outdoor excursions may be required.
