JJYS Administrative Secretary

Employees within Juvenile Justice and Youth Services have an opportunity to see the impacts their professionalism and service can do for the well-being of youth in their transition into adulthood. The Department of Health and Human Services is dedicated to provide care for individuals and families in Utah. Utah Division of Juvenile Justice and Youth Services (JJYS) provides a continuum of intervention, supervision and rehabilitation programs to youth offenders while assuring public safety.

Principal Duties
Coordinate specialized agency office functions or activities.
Acts as liaison between the office and other functional units of the agency.
Acts as a resource to provide information or determine the most effective way of meeting the needs of management, staff, clients or customers.
Provides assistance to staff and public.
Prepares and/or processes documents; reviews for accuracy and completeness; updates information and/or evaluates against policy; compares elements for consistency or logical relationships, etc.
Writes or drafts correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials.
Assist in leading staff; delegate work assignments, monitor/review quality of work, provide technical assistance or training, and provide input as requested on performance appraisal.
The Ideal CandidateHas strong technical skills, including but not limited to Google (drive, docs, forms, spreadsheets, presentations, calendar, and email), Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher), and Adobe.
Has organizational skills, including project tracking and management over time.

Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the duties of this position.
